The Science and Technology framework provides a range of different contexts for learning that draw on important aspects of everyday life and work.

In all courses within Science and Technology, students will find themselves supported and challenged. We aim to help every student achieve their full potential and become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society.

Students will develop:

  • Awareness of the importance of Science and Technology within a global society

  • Confidence in their own ability

  • Good study/working skills

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of their chosen subjects

  • Critical thinking through exploration

  • Awareness of health and safety and risk management

  • Effective use of equipment, tools and materials

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Enhanced literacy and numeracy skills

  • Confidence in the use of ICT as a learning resource

  • An understanding of the range of skills for work and career opportunities supported by the National Qualifications they are working towards.

 

The faculty sets and expects high standards of work and engages students through a variety of teaching and learning styles.
