NEW S2 CURRICULUM – SEPTEMBER 2025

Dear Parent/Carer,

To improve learning outcomes for S2 pupils we have designed a new Curriculum to allow for more learning support for pupils as well as a greater focus on a practical curriculum.

To improve on our existing model (based on the House model) we have divided the S2 cohort into four new S2 classes (2P1-2P4). These new classes will allow for a greater range of curriculum options across the year group and will allow for a greater degree of pastoral care for pupils. Pupils will attend classes in the same group Period 1 to Period 6 to improve consistency in Learning and Teaching and to avoid pupils experiencing different cohorts during the school day.

The three Pupil Support Leaders for this cohort will remain and your existing main contact will be the same.

We will be trialling a new Home Room system (similar to our previous registration system) that will enable class 2P3 and 2P4 to receive a daily check-in with a consistent team to support improved attendance and engagement in learning.

New timetables will be shared with pupils at a special assembly in Drama Hall on Tuesday 16th September during P1 (starting 08.39).
